AbstractQuality of life in European cities. Topics: satisfaction with the following facilities and issues in the own city: public transport, schools, health care services offered by hospitals, health care services offered by doctors, green spaces, sports facilities, cinemas, cultural facilities, public internet access, internet access at home; approval of selected statements about the own city: easy to find a job, good integration of foreigners, easy to find good housing at a reasonable price, efficient administrative services, air pollution problems, noise problems, clean, spends resources in a responsible way, satisfied to live there, increase in quality of life in the next five years; attitude towards the following statements: financial difficulties of the own household, feeling of safety in the city and in the neighbourhood. Demography: sex; age; city; occupation; professional position; country of birth; parents’ country of birth. Additionally coded was: respondent ID; country; weighting factor.

  •  EB - Flash Eurobarometer
    The Flash Eurobarometer were launched by the European Commission in the late eighties, turning out a Monthly Monitor between in 1994 and 1995. These “small scale” surveys are conducted in all EU member states at times, occasionally reducing or enlarging the scope of countries as a function of specific topics. The typical sample size is 500-1000 respondents per country and interviews are usually conducted by phone in the respective national language. The Flash Eurobarometer include series on special topics (Common Currency, EU Enlargement, Information Society, Entrepreneurship, Innovation) as well as special target group polls, particularly company managers with enterprise related topics.
