AbstractAttitude towards the magazine ´L’Europe en France´. Topics: assessment of the magazine: useful, interesting, attractive, practical, fulfils expectations; reasons for reading ´L’Europe´: professional interest, personal interest, both; share of new and before unknown information; preference for in-depth reports or for short articles; attitude towards abandoning print version; use of online version; reading behaviour: read whole magazine, read most of the magazine, read parts of the magazine, no reading at all; use of copies: keep them, give them away, throw after reading, throw without reading; assessment of the number of received copies: too many, right number, too few; preferred frequency of publication; attitude towards European integration. Demography: positon of respondent; sex; age. Additionally coded was: respondent ID; interviewer ID; language of the interview; country; date of interview; time of the beginning of the interview; duration of the interview.

    The Flash Eurobarometer were launched by the European Commission in the late eighties, turning out a Monthly Monitor between in 1994 and 1995. These “small scale” surveys are conducted in all EU member states at times, occasionally reducing or enlarging the scope of countries as a function of specific topics. The typical sample size is 500-1000 respondents per country and interviews are usually conducted by phone in the respective national language. The Flash Eurobarometer include series on special topics (Common Currency, EU Enlargement, Information Society, Entrepreneurship, Innovation) as well as special target group polls, particularly company managers with enterprise related topics.
