Topics: knowledge of the duration of the dual circulation period of Estonian kroon and euro; possession of euro banknotes and coins and place of acquisition; purchase of a euro coins starter kit and intended use. Additionally coded was: interviewer ID; language of the interview; date of interview; time of the beginning of the interview; duration of the interview; region; weighting factor.

NotesIn total, three waves of fieldwork were conducted around the day of the introduction of the euro in Estland (2010/12/31), consisting of approximately 1000 interviews within three days each. This study number contains the data of the first day of the first wave (one day before the introduction of the euro, 333 interviews). Here, another questionnaire has been used than on the following days and for the following waves. These data are archived under study number 5462.

    The Flash Eurobarometer were launched by the European Commission in the late eighties, turning out a Monthly Monitor between in 1994 and 1995. These “small scale” surveys are conducted in all EU member states at times, occasionally reducing or enlarging the scope of countries as a function of specific topics. The typical sample size is 500-1000 respondents per country and interviews are usually conducted by phone in the respective national language. The Flash Eurobarometer include series on special topics (Common Currency, EU Enlargement, Information Society, Entrepreneurship, Innovation) as well as special target group polls, particularly company managers with enterprise related topics.
