AbstractEU development aid and access to energy. Topics: importance of each of the following aspects with regard to overcoming poverty in developing countries: access to food, democracy, access to energy, peace and security, access to safe drinking water and toilets, access to health care, access to education; most problematic fields of daily life due to lack of access to energy; preferred main source of energy for developing countries; attitude towards the following statements on EU development aid: EU should promote access to energy, increase the share of budget allocated to get access to energy, benefit for the EU from promoting access to energy. Demography: age; sex; nationality; age at end of education; occupation; professional position; region; type of community; own a mobile phone and fixed (landline) phone; household composition and household size. Additionally coded was: respondent ID; language of the interview; type of phone line; country; date of interview; time of the beginning of the interview; duration of the interview; weighting factor.

  •  EB - Flash Eurobarometer
    The Flash Eurobarometer were launched by the European Commission in the late eighties, turning out a Monthly Monitor between in 1994 and 1995. These “small scale” surveys are conducted in all EU member states at times, occasionally reducing or enlarging the scope of countries as a function of specific topics. The typical sample size is 500-1000 respondents per country and interviews are usually conducted by phone in the respective national language. The Flash Eurobarometer include series on special topics (Common Currency, EU Enlargement, Information Society, Entrepreneurship, Innovation) as well as special target group polls, particularly company managers with enterprise related topics.
