AbstractAttitudes to the EU and judgement on the EU summit in Korfu. Topics: Attitude to membership of the country in the European Union and assessment of the advantageousness of this membership; satisfaction with democracy in the EU; knowledge about the summit meeting of the European Council in Korfu; assessment of the effects of these consultations of the European Council on the future of the EU and the future of the country; knowledge about the white book of the EU commission on growth, competitive ability and employment in Europe; expected effects of this white book; age at conclusion of school or university education; party preference (Sunday question). Demography: age; sex; time worked each week; occupation; marital status; residential status; number of cars in household; size of place of residence; occupation of primary earner. Interviewer rating: age (classified); socioeconomic status of respondent; region.

NotesThe study is part of an omnibus survey. The Flash Eurobarometers are short interviews introduced between the semi-annual Eurobarometers and taking up current European topics. Further Flash Eurobarometers are archived under ZA Study Nos. 2330, 2362 to 2365 as well as 2401, 2402, 2457, 2458, 2470, 2471, 2482, 2494, 2495 and 2515. The total number of respondents of the data set is distributed among the individual countries as follows: Belgium 500 cases, Denmark 522 cases, Federal Republic of Germany (West) 489 cases, Federal Republic of Germany (East) 496 cases, Greece 500 cases, Spain 502 cases, France 480 cases, Ireland 505 cases, Italy 504 cases, Luxembourg 500 cases, Netherlands 500 cases, Portugal 500 cases, United Kingdom 501 cases. A cumulated data set of the semi-annual Eurobarometers (1973-1992) is archived under ZA Study No. 2533.

  •  EB - Flash Eurobarometer
    The Flash Eurobarometer were launched by the European Commission in the late eighties, turning out a Monthly Monitor between in 1994 and 1995. These “small scale” surveys are conducted in all EU member states at times, occasionally reducing or enlarging the scope of countries as a function of specific topics. The typical sample size is 500-1000 respondents per country and interviews are usually conducted by phone in the respective national language. The Flash Eurobarometer include series on special topics (Common Currency, EU Enlargement, Information Society, Entrepreneurship, Innovation) as well as special target group polls, particularly company managers with enterprise related topics.
