Abstract | The content main focus areas of this Eurobarometer are: 1. The personal situation in life of respondent; 2. The role of women in occupation and society; 3. Political questions and attitudes to the EC. Topics: 1. General contentment with life; satisfaction with democracy in the country; judgement on development of personal economic situation as well as the country in the last 12 months; connection between economic development and unemployment; conversations about social problems; personal opinion leadership; memberships and honorary activities; type of group activities; composition of group according to sex; earlier and current participation in public demonstrations. 2. Judgement on the occupational (scale) and social situation of women (scale); attitude to emancipation of women; role distribution in one´s family; full-time and part-time employment; readiness for part-time work with sacrifice of income; work orientation; influence of sex on one´s own professional career; characterization of one´s own work activity (scale); (with those searching for work: preference for full-time or part-time employment; continuation of the search even in case of adequate financial reserves; conducting paid and unpaid activities); paid household help or child care; most important criteria given fictitious search for work; attitude to only the spouse working and his presumed attitude to this; the right of the woman to housekeeping money: workplace preference for men (versus women) given high unemployment; political interest; interest in politics of partner; differences of opinion with partner in political questions; attitude to politics as ´man´s business´; trust regarding women and men in various occupations; attitude to the women´s movement; (with women: membership in a women´s initiative); judgement on selected objectives of women´s initiatives; women´s participation in municipal representation, in the Federal Parliament and in the European Parliament; assumed effects of a higher proportion of women on the work of political committees; knowledge of laws on occupational equal treatment of women; knowledge of an EC department for equal rights; level of job standards and actual level of contentment with life (scale); feeling of being happy; associations with the term ´happiness´. 3.
