AbstractAttitude to problems of international policy as well as judgement on various countries, their policies and politicians. The USA image of the Germans. Topics: Most important problems of the FRG; attitude to unification of Europe and assumed chances of realization; evaluation of the American stand on unification efforts; necessity of a Western European defense organization and a German defense contribution; image of NATO; evaluation of German-American and German-Soviet relations; assessment of the danger of war; judgement on the American and Soviet efforts to avoid a war and the possible usefulness of an East-West conference; ideas about the political orientation or neutrality of the FRG; judgement on the successes of communist or western powers in Europe and Asia; attitude to disarmament, a prohibition of production of nuclear weapons and peaceful use of atomic energy; judgement on Adenauer, Mendes-France, Eden, Dulles and Molotov; attitude to France, England, China, America and the Soviet Union; knowledge about the term ´peaceful co-existence´; assessment of the credibility of the American and Soviet policies; expected influence of the communists in the FRG and the Soviet Union on the KPD; party preference; membership in a trade union. Demography: age (classified); sex; school education; occupation; household income; head of household; state; membership. Interviewer rating: social class of respondent; number of contact attempts; identification of interviewer; city size.
