AbstractPolitical attitudes and judgement on the parties before the state parliament election. Topics: Political knowledge; political interest and self-assessment of political extent to which informed; importance of political controversies; issue ability of the parties; image profile of the three major parties; sympathy scale for the SPD, CDU, FDP, NPD and for various federal politicians; attitude to the election campaign; assessment of the federal political significance of the state parliament election in North Rhine-Westphalia; preferred prime minister; intent to participate in the election; certainty and time of personal election decision; behavior at the polls in the state parliament election 1962 and the Federal Parliament election 1962; reasons for possible change in party voted for; party one cannot vote for; assumed changes with a change of government in North Rhine-Westphalia and desired composition of the government; familiarity of the constituency candidate for the state parliament election; desired changes of political influence of special interest groups and associations in the Federal Republic; attitude to the election campaign; satisfaction with the political system in the Federal Republic; company size and distance to place of work; membership in clubs and organizations; ties to the trade union; party orientation of the organization; judgement on the economic situation; daily newspapers and magazines read; particularly interesting magazine contents; personal opinion leadership in various areas. Demography: age (classified); sex; marital status; religious denomination; religiousness; school education; vocational training; occupation; employment; type of company; composition of household; head of household; social class; possession of durable economic goods. Interviewer rating: social class and willingness of respondent to cooperate; number of contact attempts; city size.
