AbstractPolitical attitudes. Evaluation of parties and candidates for chancellor. Topics: assessment of the current economic situation of the FRG and future economic development; assessment of personal economic development; dependence of general economic development on the governing party; most able party in economic questions; political interest; most important political events in the last year as well as the names of politicians connected with them; influence of politician conduct on sympathy for a party; party inclination; preferred candidate for chancellor in the next Federal Parliament election; most important characteristics a federal chancellor should have; party preference (ballot procedure); self-assessment as well as assessment of parties and candidates for chancellor on a left-right continuum; most important political tasks in the Federal Republic; issue ability of the parties and candidates for chancellor; satisfaction with the job of the government coalition and opposition; attitude to political unification of Europe; assumed attitude of the French, English and West German population to a united Europe; feeling of being a European; identification with political groups; opinions about the treaty with Poland; importance of good relations with the USA, the Soviet Union, France, China and the GDR; issue significance and ability of the parties in questions of Ostpolitik, price stability as well as abortion; significance of the candidate for chancellor for personal voting decision; sympathy scale for the SPD, CDU/CSU and FDP; familiarity and use of absentee ballot; election participation in the Federal Parliament election 1972 and behavior at the polls; semantic differential for the candidates for chancellor, Kohl and Schmidt; judgement on the system of social security in the Federal Republic; security of social security in the future or dependence on economic development; party making the greatest effort to secure social services; most important political events in Baden-Wuerttemberg; party preference in the state parliament election; preferred prime minister.
