AbstractJudgement on the Suez Crisis and the suppression of the uprising in Hungary by the Russians. Attitude to NATO. Topics: attitude to selected countries and heads of government; judgement on the ability in foreign policy of the American, Russian, French and British government; danger of world war (scale); judgement on the peace efforts of the Americans and the Russians; trust in the USA, France, Italy and Great Britain in the case of military conflicts; sympathies for Israel or the Arab nations in the Middle East Conflict; judgement on the use of force by the British and French as well as on the American stand in the Suez Crisis; assessment of the consequences of the relationship of the Americans with the French and British; assessment of Russia´s desire for peace in the Middle East; preference for UN control of the Suez Canal and for Nasser´s removal from office; justified suppression of the uprising in Hungary by the Russians and judgement on western reactions; expected development of the independence of East European countries from Russia; knowledge about the UN as well as the NATO; knowledge about membership of one´s own country as well as of the USA in the UN and the NATO; attitude to the United Nations and to independent UN military forces; assessment of the influence of the UN from the most recent actions; significance of NATO for European security; attitude to a united Europe and anticipated influence of the Americans on European policy; attitude to a nationalization of large industrial businesses; assessment of the influence of American policies on one´s own country; evaluation of the influence of American films, music, radio programs, literature, business interests and tourists on one´s own country; assessment of the American stand in the conflicts between European colonial powers and the peoples of the colonies; assumed reasons for this American stand; assessment of Soviet seriousness about disarmament; party preference; union membership.
