AbstractJudgement on parties and politicians in North Rhine-Westphalia. Attitude to current political questions at state level. Topics: Most important political problems in North Rhine-Westphalia; intent to participate in the state election; preference for absentee ballot; point in time and certainty of one´s voting decision; behavior at the polls in the last state parliament election; attitude to a one-party government of SPD after the election; coalition preference; sympathy scale for selected parties at federal and state level as well as for the top politicians of the state; knowledge about the SPD and CDU top candidates; party preference at state and federal level; satisfaction with the achievements of the SPD state government; interest in politics; preference for prime minister; judgement on the credibility, the energy, the sympathy, the sense of responsibility and expertise of Johannes Rau in comparison to Helmut Linssen; judgement on economic situation of the state as well as personal economic situation; comparison of the economic situation of the state with the rest of the western federal territory; most able of the two parties (CDU and SPD) in the areas job creation, environmental protection, fight against crime and creation of housing; expected winner of the state parliament election; expected election result for the SPD, the FDP, the Greens and the DVU {deutsche Volksunion}; living together with a partner; assessment of personal job security; jeopardy to job and unemployment in the close circle of friends; union membership; religiousness; party inclination; party identification.
