AbstractIndependence of national justice systems in the EU. Topics: assessment of the national justice system in terms of the independence of courts and judges; importance of each of the following aspects with regard to the assessment: interference from government and politicians, interference from economic or other groups with specific interest, insufficient independence of status and position of judges. Demography: information about the company: number of employees, year of company establishment, ownership structure; total turnover in 2018; sales to other EU countries and to countries outside the EU; percentage of the value of sales to other EU member states in 2018; direct selling to final consumers and / or to other companies or organisations; involvement in disputes that went to court in the last two years. Additionally coded was: respondent ID; country; NACE-Code; size of company; region; nation group; weighting factor.

    The Flash Eurobarometer were launched by the European Commission in the late eighties, turning out a Monthly Monitor between in 1994 and 1995. These “small scale” surveys are conducted in all EU member states at times, occasionally reducing or enlarging the scope of countries as a function of specific topics. The typical sample size is 500-1000 respondents per country and interviews are usually conducted by phone in the respective national language. The Flash Eurobarometer include series on special topics (Common Currency, EU Enlargement, Information Society, Entrepreneurship, Innovation) as well as special target group polls, particularly company managers with enterprise related topics.
