AbstractLiving and environmental conditions. Economic situation. Topics: Living: duration of residence in the residential area; duration of residence in the apartment; owner status; satisfaction with the apartment, the residential area and the city/municipality; general life satisfaction; intended move out of the apartment in the next two years; preferred new place of residence; satisfaction with the environmental conditions in the residential area; expected development of environmental problems in the residential area; intensity of car traffic in the residential street; type and intensity of environmental pollution in the immediate residential environment (railway noise, road traffic noise, aircraft noise, industrial and commercial noise, odours, exhaust gases, dust formation); assessment of the current and future economic situation in the FRG and the city/municipality as well as the own economic situation; expected development of unemployment figures in the city/municipality; political interest; interest in local politics; fair share in comparison with other population groups. Demography: sex; age (month of birth, year of birth); highest school leaving certificate; if still pupils: type of school attended, desired school leaving certificate; age at leaving school; vocational training certificate; scope of employment, registered unemployed or other occupation; more than 20 hours of gainful employment; previous employment; current or intended school leaving certificate; current or last position; assessment of job security; marital status; religious denomination or religion; closeness to the church; frequency of church attendance; self-assessment of class affiliation; eligibility to vote in the last federal election in 1983; participation in the last federal election; voting behaviour (second vote); eligibility to vote, participation in elections and voting behaviour (second vote) in the last election to the Berlin House of Representatives in 1985; personal monthly net income; number of persons in the household (household size); number of children and young people in the household from 0 to 5 years, 6 to 9 years, 10 to 14 years and 15 to 17 years (household composition); number of persons in the household aged 18 years and older with German citizenship; number of persons in the household aged 18 years and older without German citizenship; number of persons in the household contributing to household income; net household income; telephone. Interviewer rating: type of residence; interview with the respondent alone or presence of third persons during the interview; intervention of third persons in the interview; willingness of the respondent to respond; reliability of the respondent´s data; interview duration; interview date; sex and age of the interviewer. Additionally coded was: ID; point no.; sample identification; serial no. sample point; federal state; administrative district; city size (political municipality size, Boustedt); weight.
