AbstractForms and frequency of discrimination. Dealing with and consequences of discrimination. Social dimension of discrimination. Political attitudes and expectations of politics. Living situations and general attitudes. Topics: Experiences of discrimination in the last 3 years (self, people in personal environment, unknown third parties); reason of personally experienced discrimination. Forms and frequency of experienced discrimination: Frequency of personal discrimination in selected areas; type of experienced disadvantage (material disadvantage, social degradation, physical assault). Dealing with and consequences of discrimination: reaction to the discrimination experience; effects of the discrimination experience on the respondent personally; awareness of public offers of assistance and opportunities to get started; desire for previously non-existent offers of assistance (open); knowledge of one´s own rights in case of discrimination; assessment of a law against discrimination; awareness of legal foundations: General Equal Treatment Act (AGG); assessment of the AGG; witness of discrimination of others; reasons for discrimination of others; personal reaction in case of discrimination of others; reasons for supporting the disadvantaged person. Social dimension of discrimination: estimated prevalence of discrimination in Germany according to ethnic origin, age, gender and gender identity, religious attitudes and beliefs, sexual identity, disability or chronic disease; ; comparison of the current situation with that of five years ago regarding the prevalence of the above types of discrimination; perceived group discrimination based on the characteristics of ethnic origin (migration background), age, gender and gender identity, religious attitudes and beliefs, sexual identity, disability or chronic disease; possible causes of discrimination; evaluation of efforts in Germany against discrimination; responsibility for action against discrimination. Political attitudes and expectations of politics: Expectations of politics based on various statements on the topic of discrimination; political interest; trust in institutions; party sympathy. Living situations and general attitudes: general life satisfaction; assessment of one´s own economic situation; stereotypes and prejudices against other persons or groups (disabled, homosexuals, persons of other ethnic origin or other religion). Demography: sex; age (open, grouped); education; state; employment; city size; net household income; steady partner; sexual orientation; migration background; country of origin; denomination or religious community; disability or chronic illness; foreign assignment of group membership. Additionally coded was: respondent ID; group discrimination experience (own, other, no discrimination experience); weighting factor.
