Universe
The universe of samples was comprised of all German persons, whose residence is in the Federal Republic of Germany, completed at least 16 years of life at the time of survey and are living in private households.
Selection Method
The ADM Master Sample is a stratified, three-stage random selection which is based on the electoral districts of Federal Parliament elections. Two nets of the ADM sample system were applied whereby a double net was used in East Germany, which means that this was doubled for over-sampling. The target households were selected according to the random route procedure, the target person in the household was determined by Sweden key.
Mode of Data Collection
Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI)

Wrong labeling d171d
Labeling mistake of variable d171d in the English version. Instead of the Green party’s position on nuclear energy (Parteiposition zu Atomenergie der GRÜNEN) it was labeled as the Republikaner’s position on nuclear energy (Parteiposition zu Atomenergie der REPUBLIKANER).

Wildcodes e81c
There are two wildcodes in the English version of variable e81c. 1011 stands for “criticism towards the income of managers” ("Kritik an Gehältern/Abfindungen von Managern") and 1012 stands for "bankers to be the cause of the financial crises" ("Banker als Verursacher der Wirtschafts- und Finanzkrise").

German Longitudinal Election Study (GLES)
The German Longitudinal Election Study (GLES) is a DFG-funded project which made its debut just prior to the 2009 federal election. GLES is the largest and most ambitious election study held so far in Germany. Although the initial mandate is to examine and analyse the electorate for three consecutive elections, the aspired goal is to integrate the project within GESIS as an institutionalized election study after the federal election of 2017, and hence to make it a permanent study.
