AbstractSlovenian banks after the introduction of the euro. Topics: supply and time of supply of bank branch with euro banknotes and euro coins before January 2007; amount of banknotes and coins received corresponding to requested amount; reasons for not being supplied; number of euro coin starter-kits for businesses and for citizens received from the central bank; contacting of business customers in order to supply them with euro cash before January 2007; proportion of business customers that requested to be provided with euro cash; amount of requests for euro cash satisfied before January 2007; amount of requests for starter-kits for businesses and for citizens satisfied before January 2007; number of spare starter-kits for businesses and for citizens; operating of cash dispensers (ATMs) in the branch; date and time at which conversion of cash dispensers to euro was completed; euro banknote denominations dispensed in ATMs in the first two weeks of January 2007; experienced problems and kind of problems in terms of cash logistics related to the changeover (regarding both euro and tolar); time at which issuing national cash at counters was stopped; measures taken and kind of measures to cope with backflow of national cash. Demography: bank chain; number of banks in the branch in Slovenia; position of respondent in the branch; number of employees in the branch. Additionally coded was: date of interview; duration of the interview.

UniverseThe sample of the bank sector consists of 74 bank branches and 30 bank branches in post offices. The person interviewed in each branch was the Branch Manager, the person designated to Eurocoordinator in the branch or another staff member.

    The Flash Eurobarometer were launched by the European Commission in the late eighties, turning out a Monthly Monitor between in 1994 and 1995. These “small scale” surveys are conducted in all EU member states at times, occasionally reducing or enlarging the scope of countries as a function of specific topics. The typical sample size is 500-1000 respondents per country and interviews are usually conducted by phone in the respective national language. The Flash Eurobarometer include series on special topics (Common Currency, EU Enlargement, Information Society, Entrepreneurship, Innovation) as well as special target group polls, particularly company managers with enterprise related topics.
