Topics: Attitude to membership of the country in the European Union and assessment of the advantageousness of this membership; satisfaction with democracy; assessment of the influence of the representatives of one´s own country on decisions in the EU; assessment of the current development in the country regarding the economic situation, the situation in the job market, purchasing power, health insurance protection, earnings-related unemployment benefit and the social climate; assessment of the economic situation of other member countries of the European Union; improvement or deterioration of one´s own financial situation in the last year; knowledge about the white book of the European Commission on growth, competitive ability and employment; expected effects of this white book; age at conclusion of school or university; party preference (Sunday question).

NotesThe study is part of an omnibus survey. The Flash Eurobarometers are short interviews, introduced between the semi-annual Eurobarometers and taking up current European topics. Further Flash Eurobarometers are archived under ZA Study Nos. 2330, 2362 to 2365 as well as 2401, 2402, 2457, 2458, 2470, 2471, 2482, 2483 and 2494. The total number of respondents in the data set is distributed among the individual countries as follows: Belgium 553 cases, Denmark 518 cases, Federal Republic of Germany (West) 494 cases, Federal Republic of Germany (East) 497 cases, Greece 500 cases, Spain 501 cases, France 503 cases, Ireland 500 cases, Italy 501 cases, Luxembourg 500 cases, Netherlands 504 cases, Portugal 500 cases, United Kingdom 504 cases.   •  EB - Flash Eurobarometer
    The Flash Eurobarometer were launched by the European Commission in the late eighties, turning out a Monthly Monitor between in 1994 and 1995. These “small scale” surveys are conducted in all EU member states at times, occasionally reducing or enlarging the scope of countries as a function of specific topics. The typical sample size is 500-1000 respondents per country and interviews are usually conducted by phone in the respective national language. The Flash Eurobarometer include series on special topics (Common Currency, EU Enlargement, Information Society, Entrepreneurship, Innovation) as well as special target group polls, particularly company managers with enterprise related topics.
