AbstractInterest in use of modern telecommunication equipment. Topics: interest in and use of satellite programs, pay tv programs, teletext, CD-ROM or CD-i, PC, computer at work, fax equipment, fax-modem, cellular telephone, Internet and online services such as Compuserve; interest in the services of the information society such as e.g. participation in political debates via a communication network, participation in courses via computer, use of database from home, use of municipal und governmental services, use of communication networks to select and purchase products, reading foreign newspapers and magazines, use of electronic media in the search for a job, participation in group discussions in occupational as well as private area, use of e-mail, use of electronic games with partners also abroad, managing personal bank account.

  •  EB - Flash Eurobarometer
    The Flash Eurobarometer were launched by the European Commission in the late eighties, turning out a Monthly Monitor between in 1994 and 1995. These “small scale” surveys are conducted in all EU member states at times, occasionally reducing or enlarging the scope of countries as a function of specific topics. The typical sample size is 500-1000 respondents per country and interviews are usually conducted by phone in the respective national language. The Flash Eurobarometer include series on special topics (Common Currency, EU Enlargement, Information Society, Entrepreneurship, Innovation) as well as special target group polls, particularly company managers with enterprise related topics.
