AbstractJudgement on parties and politicians before the state parliament election in Hesse. Topics: political interest; intent to participate in the state and Federal Parliament election; party preference (Sunday question and rank order procedure) at state and federal level; certainty of one´s voting decision; party one can still vote for; behavior at the polls in the last state and Federal Parliament election; parties one cannot vote for; knowledge about the parties represented in the state parliament and the governing parties; sympathy scale for the parties at state and federal level; satisfaction with state government, the governing parties as well as opposition; sympathy scale for federal and state politicians; agreement of personal interests with those of the parties; preferred government coalition and preferred prime minister; self-classification as well as classification of the parties on a left-right continuum; judgement on the general economic situation in Hesse and comparison with the economic situation in the rest of the Federal Republic; assumed economic development of Hesse; ability of the state or Federal Government to improve the economic situation of the state; issue relevance and issue ability of the parties and possible coalitions; attitude to the comprehensive school; school-age children in household; judgement on support of the Rhine-Main area or the other areas by state government; ability of the state government to influence economic development of parts of the state; attitude to the coalition government of the SPD with the Greens in Hesse as well as to a possible SPD-Greens coalition at the federal level; assessment of the stability of the SPD-Greens coalition; preferred coalition behavior of the FDP; attitude to an SPD-Greens coalition after the next state parliament election; attitude to selected social demands and concepts of an ideal society (scale); assumed election winner and preferred federal chancellor in the next Federal Parliament election; attitude to the coalition change of the FDP in the fall of 1982; self-classification of social mobility.
