AbstractJudgement on parties and politicians in Bremen. Attitude to current political questions at state level. Topics: Eligibility to vote in the city-state; most important political problems in Bremen; intent to participate in the metropolitan council election; preference for absentee ballot; point in time and certainty of one´s voting decision; behavior at the polls in the last metropolitan council election; coalition preference; sympathy scale for selected parties at federal and state level as well as for the top politicians of the city-state; satisfaction with achievements of the senate as well as of the CDU as opposition in the metropolitan council; general contentment with life with the Federal Government (scale); party preference in the state; attitude to the SPD remaining governing party; interest in politics; preference for mayor; judgement on the credibility, the energy, the sympathy, the sense of responsibility and the expertise of Klaus Wedemeier in comparison to Ulrich Noelle; judgement on the economic situation and the business prediction of the state as well as personal economic situation; comparison of the economic situation of the state with the rest of the western federal territory; most able party (CDU versus SPD) in the areas economy, job creation, environmental protection, traffic policy and finances; expected winner of the metropolitan council election; expected election result for the FDP and the list AFB; judgement on the effort of party supporters in the election campaign; living together with a partner; assessment of personal job security; jeopardy to job and unemployment in the close circle of friends; union membership; religiousness; party inclination; party identification.

    The available studies on the German ferderal state elections go back as far as 1962. These studies were conducted for the most part as representative surveys in the run-up to elections of the Landtage, the Bremer Bürgerschaft or the Berliner Abgeordnetenhaus. German Federal State Election studies which were surveyed within the framework of the German Longitudinal Election Study (GLES) are not contained in this group.
