AbstractAttitudes towards the EU transport policy. Topics: cars in the household; most often used mode of transport for daily activities; impact of car use in residential area on: traffic situation, environment; most effective measures to improve traffic situation in residential area; most effective measures to reduce CO2 emissions in the EU; preconditions for using public transport more often; measures taken in the past year to save fuel: adapted driving style, increased use of public transport, walked or cycled more, changed car; most important measures to increase use of bio fuels; willingness to pay more for using a less polluting transport: no willingness, up to 10 % more, more than 10 % more; attitude towards tolls for all road users; preferred areas of investment; assessment of security controls at airports; awareness of air passenger rights in the EU. Demography: sex; age; age at end of education; occupation; professional position; type of community; own a mobile phone and fixed (landline) phone. Additionally coded was: respondent ID; interviewer ID; language of the interview; date of interview; time of the beginning of the interview; type of phone line; country; region; weighting factor.

  •  EB - Flash Eurobarometer
    The Flash Eurobarometer were launched by the European Commission in the late eighties, turning out a Monthly Monitor between in 1994 and 1995. These “small scale” surveys are conducted in all EU member states at times, occasionally reducing or enlarging the scope of countries as a function of specific topics. The typical sample size is 500-1000 respondents per country and interviews are usually conducted by phone in the respective national language. The Flash Eurobarometer include series on special topics (Common Currency, EU Enlargement, Information Society, Entrepreneurship, Innovation) as well as special target group polls, particularly company managers with enterprise related topics.
