Abstract | The main survey focus areas of this Eurobarometer are: 1. Attitude to the European Parliament elections; 2. Attitude to children. Topics: 1. Attitude to the elections for the European Parliament: degree of familiarity of the elections; perception and judgement on the advertising campaign in the media; basic attitude to the elections; image of European members of parliament; personal intent to participate in the European Elections and intended behavior at the polls; behavior at the polls in the last state parliament election; party one cannot vote for; interest in election result; general attitude to unification of Europe; judgement on affiliation of the country with the community; attitude to an acceleration or slowing down of the unification movement; most important political problems of the country and the EC; attitude to admission of Greece, Portugal and Spain into the EC; judgement on the European-American relationship; judgement on the policies of the country regarding unification of Western Europe and security of the country; attitude to a dominant role of the parties in the European Community. 2. Attitude to children: child-friendly (scale); child-raising style and educational goals; attitude to a longer maternity leave; importance of school education for children; child-raising problems; ideal number of children and desire for children; receipt of child allowance. 3. Miscellaneous: satisfaction with income and general contentment with life; perceived reasons for the weakness of the dollar; self-assessment on a left-right continuum; party preference (Sunday question); political interest; satisfaction with democracy in the country; personal opinion leadership; religiousness; company size; city size. Demography: age; marital status; religious denomination; school education; employment; household income; household composition; head of household; behavior at the polls in the last Federal Parliament election; degree of urbanization; state. |
