AbstractJudgement on parties and politicians. Political attitudes. Topics: judgement on the economic situation in the Federal Republic and assessment of further development next year; interest in politics; party inclination; party allegiance and reasons for identification with a party (scale); preferred government measures to alleviate the current economic difficulties (scale); party preference (ballot procedure); sympathy scale for the federal parties; issue relevance; issue competence of the parties; personal change in party voted for; behavior at the polls in the Federal Parliament election 1983; threat to peace from the great powers USA and Soviet Union; preferred social system; significance of municipal, state, federal as well as European elections; interest in news and events from neighboring European countries; identification as European; most important goals of a united Europe; attitude to a dissolution of the European Community; judgement on the development of agreement among the nations of the EC in the last 12 months; influence of the EC on the security of peace in Europe; attitude to an extension of the influence of the EC in world politics; the role of the Europeans in the world and political relationship to the USA; knowledge and judgement on the job of the European Parliament; preferred decision-making authority of the European Parliament; judgement on the development of the European unification process since the first European election five years ago; interest in as well as self-assessment of extent to which informed about the European Parliament and the impending European election; behavior at the polls in the European Election 1971; intent to participate in the impending European Election; party preference at the European level (ballot procedure); comparison of decision criteria for party choice at the Federal Parliament election and European Election; judgement on the importance of the European Election and significance of one´s own voting (scale); most important political tasks in Europe; parties and European nations making the greatest effort for European interests; countries with the strongest personal interest in the EC; influence of economic difficulties in the Western European countries on the relationship between European partners; acceptance of economic disadvantages in the Federal Republic to support poorer countries in the EC; judgement on membership of the Federal Republic in the EC; easing of reunification of Germany through Western European unification; perceived advantages and disadvantages of European unification; satisfaction with democracy in the country; judgement on freedom and opportunities to develop in the Federal Republic; self-classification on a left-right continuum; significance of selected moral concepts in the Federal Republic; attitudes to selected political questions; attitude to nuclear energy; attitude to the Greens taking seats in Federal Parliament and in various state parliaments as well as assumed reasons for election of Greens; trust in selected institutions in the Federal Republic (scale); general confidence in the future.
