Topics: confidence in the future; judgement on the economic situation in the Federal Republic and evaluation of further developments in a year; interest in politics; sources of information of political news; goals in life and basic position on life; the most important social goals (scale); party inclination; attitude to technology and acceptance of technology (scale); understanding of democracy (scale); personal swing voting; behavior at the last Federal Parliament election in 1983; satisfaction with the party elected; party preference (first and second vote, ballot system); relevance of issues; the parties´ ability in issues; judgement on the performance of the Federal Government; judgement on foreign policy; jeopardy to world peace through the USA or the Soviet Union; attitude to NATO; assessment of the future development of unemployment in the Federal Republic; preferred social system; satisfaction with unions as representatives of employees´ interests; national pride; satisfaction with democracy; self-assessment and classification of the federal parties on a left-right continuum; importance of selected moral concepts and their realization in the Federal Republic (scale); attitude to the entry of the Greens into the Federal Parliament; sympathy-scale for the federal parties; sense of duty and achievement orientation (scale); personal opinion leadership and political commitment; importance of areas of life: family, profession and leisure; attitudes to family, partnership and children (scale); ideal number of children; living together with a partner; housework and the allocation of duties within the partnership; housing situation and housing status; assessment of housing quality of residential area; frequency of moving and mobility for professional reasons; reasons for occupation; work orientation; proportion of respondent´s income in total household income; interruption of occupation for family reasons; job satisfaction and pride in one´s profession; frequency of job changing; attitude to work (scale); expectations of an ideal occupation (scale); conflict felt between family and profession; leisure needs; most important leisure activities; percentage weighting of leisure time, work and family; self-evaluation of thrift; consumption orientation; mobility within generations; the significance of religion in the parental home; personal religious orientation and attitude to religion (scale); occupation in civil service; possession of telephone; willingness to participate in a follow-up survey; consent to storing of address at the survey institute. NotesFor the state of North-Rhine-Westphalia a supplementary sample was taken such that a representative statement for this state is also possible (1429 respondents).
