AbstractAttitudes towards environmental issues. Topics: impact of each of the following factors on personal quality of life: social factors, state of environment, economy; impact of public authorities’ efforts to protect the environment on improving economy as a whole; impact of public authorities’ efforts to protect the environment on jobs and social benefits; attitude towards environmental issues being considered as important as economic and social policies by decision makers; appropriate consideration of environmental issues with regard to deciding policies in other political areas; concern about future trends in the following areas: climate change, nature and wildlife, environment and health, use of natural resources; problems in residential area with: air pollution, traffic congestion, landscape damage, noise, waste management and disposal, quality of food products, quality of tap water, quality of water for swimming, lack of green space, organisation of civil protection against natural or industrial disasters. Demography: sex; age; current type of education; age at end of education; occupation; professional position; region; type of community. Additionally coded was: country; questionnaire number; weighting factor.

  •  EB - Flash Eurobarometer
    The Flash Eurobarometer were launched by the European Commission in the late eighties, turning out a Monthly Monitor between in 1994 and 1995. These “small scale” surveys are conducted in all EU member states at times, occasionally reducing or enlarging the scope of countries as a function of specific topics. The typical sample size is 500-1000 respondents per country and interviews are usually conducted by phone in the respective national language. The Flash Eurobarometer include series on special topics (Common Currency, EU Enlargement, Information Society, Entrepreneurship, Innovation) as well as special target group polls, particularly company managers with enterprise related topics.
