2014-8-8d12The documentation for the INCOME variable ´d12´ was neither complete nor always clear. The country specific categories for ´d12merg´ are derived from the national field questionnaires and are not available for Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovenia. For Malta the categories do not match the 10 standard categories (eight categories in the questionnaire and in the data). For Turkey the seven questionnaire categories do not coincide with the data (ten categories coded). The harmonized income variable ´his´ assumes 10 categories for all countries.
2016-3-8caseid / uniqid25 duplicate case identification numbers have been identified appearing for Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland in variable caseid. They do not represent duplicate cases. A unique serial case identification has been generated by the archive (serialid), maintaining to original case order.
2016-3-11Duplicate cases (HU)The following pairs of cases are coded completely identical for all substantial variables (except for the original case ID): serialid 5000900 and 5000849; 5000892 and 5000843; 5000898 and 5000842; 5000846 and 5000896. All these cases belong to the Hungarian sample. ---- For the background of the subject see: Slomczynski, Kazimierz M.; Powałko, Przemek; Krauze, Tadeusz (2015-06-29): Papers on duplicate records: The Large Number of Duplicate Records in International Survey Projects: The Need for Data Quality Control. http://dx.doi.org/10.7910/DVN/TK1U7E, Harvard Dataverse.

  • EB - Candidate Countries Eurobarometer
In 2000, the European Commission launched a series of surveys in the 13 countries that at this time were applying for European Union membership, the 13 Candidate Countries or initially Applicant Countries: Bulgaria, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Turkey. Representative national samples (n=1000) were drawn up to five times a year and respondents were interviewed face-to-face in the respective national languages. Unlike former Central and Eastern Eurobarometer, the Candidate Countries Eurobarometer included selected trend questions and topical modules, which were to a large extent comparable to the Standard series. After the EU enlargement in 2004 remaining and new Candidate Countries are regularly included in selected Standard and Special Eurobarometer surveys.
